Reclaim Today

I step out my front door, and put my ear buds in.  I breathe in the cool, crisp air - then stare at the cloud my breath made as I exhaled.  Memories flood my mind of the cold fall days of my youth in Colorado.  Trees without their summer adornment white and sparkling with frost.  They appeared to have lace wrapped around their branches.

Here in California, today, car windows are frosted over this morning, but I know they soon will lose their frozen curtain.

I head out on my walk listening to my recorded voice repeating this verse:
"When a country is lawless, it has one ruler after another; but when it is led by a man with understanding and knowledge, it continues strong." Proverbs 28:2
Other thoughts, like my long prayer list, try to crowd out my voice.  I turn up the volume.  My voice is clearer now.  Or is it the Lords?

He directed me to this scripture in Proverbs the last day of 2010.  In my quest to RECLAIM my life in 2011, He showed me there is another who is ruling and leading me astray.  I've had a somewhat lawless existence, and it fills me with sadness.  But there is hope, a strength buoys my spirit.  My path is becoming clearer.

It's so quiet in our neighborhood.  Most are still hibernating from the cold evening we just had, not quite ready to brave the chill.  Some may be preparing to attend Sunday services.  I will listen to service with my mother and son in the comfort of our warm home.

Thinking of my family turns me around ready to head back.  I continue repeating over and over the verse that has brought new meaning to my wayward existence.

As I come nearer my dwelling place I stop, lifting praise with a thankful heart to all He has provided.  New friends, old friends, and family filling my life with so much abundance.

Love overflowing from a heart receiving understanding and knowledge.

  2. hmmm, that verse is giving me something to ponder.

And what a good idea to record your own voice saying a Bible memory verse.

  4. Thank you Christi for stopping by. I had read that scripture last November before election. I was guided to it again and thought it was very fitting. Have a blessed day, and I look forward to seeing how we all fair in this challenge.
