The golden link, Christ

Behold the golden link, Christ, which has come down from heaven, grab it and be drawn upward.

Can you imagine being so close to God, having a connection between our heart to His that separation of it will bring physical pain?

It's a relationship like no other.

To know each others thoughts and feelings without having to utter a word.  A closeness so tangible that breathing in brings the peaceful, beautiful scent of the One we love.

Jesus lost that very connection with God the day he died on the cross.  But three days later the link was reconnected, and Christ made it possible for us to grab hold, link up with Him, and be drawn to heaven.

I was broken, completely shattered.  I felt that separation.  It was so devastating the tears wouldn't stop.  There was no comfort in words spoken to me.  Having fallen and messed up so incredibly, God's love was not getting through to my heart.

Sin will separate us from Him, and knowing He forgives is so powerful.  To repair my shattered soul I needed to accept the forgiveness offered.  It wasn't easy, but eventually strength returned and I was able to grab the golden link.  God is so good and patient, staying with us even when we can't forgive ourselves.
Search for the Lord and for His strength; continually seek Him.  Psalm 105:4
