Comfort when they are troubled

Today I mourn with a bloggy friend.  With this world getting smaller through blogging and the internet we are given opportunities to share our lives with strangers.  We laugh, cry, learn, and fellowship.  And we mourn together.

This is a deeply personal situation for me due to the nature of the "hell" my bloggy friend has been going through for more than a year.  It has not been easy to read about her struggle because I know they will be mine, are mine.

We moved my mother into a nursing home two years ago.  Elizabeth was there with words of comfort and support through my difficult decision.  The story she has shared over the past year reminds me of how blessed we are that my mother is not as far progressed in her health issues as Elizabeth's father was.

Her father passed yesterday, and though this is a blessing because he is no longer in pain, Elizabeth is just beginning the grieving of his loss.  She knows he will be there to welcome her into the gates of heaven at her time, but that does not alleviate her heart-ache right now.

My prayers are with you and your family, Elizabeth.  God bless you and receive the comfort I send you.
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.  2 Corinthians 1:3-4
