New to Homeschool Series

Have you written down your motives, dreams, and goals for homeschooling?  I encourage you to do this before you go any further.

What is your commitment to this adventure?  When the going gets tough will you throw in the towel, or will you persevere for your student's sake?  Writing down the reason for making this decision will help you get through the tough times, and believe me they will happen.  Be prepared now.

You'll have days of laughter and growth when your child "gets it" and you see the sparkle in their eyes.  But you'll also have days when you want to pull your hair out, and the whining and complaining seem endless.  By writing down your goals and motives you'll have a firm foundation already set out that offers stability to the adventure.

Homeschoolers get many questions about socialization.  Instead of sharing my thoughts about this subject I'd rather share Linda's.  This is a brilliantly written post that expresses my sentiments exactly.   Read the post at The Homeschool Apologists.  You will also enjoy her post Defending Homeschooling.  It will help get you through those tough days.

Happy homeschooling!
