Versatile Blog Award

Thank You Tracy!

Tracy at A Slice of Smith Life has passed the Versatile Blogger Award to not one, but two of my blogs.  I have been so blessed by Tracy.

If you have received an award you know the best part is paying it forward to other deserving blogs.  It is also difficult to narrow the list down to 15.  Fortunately, Tracy has passed the award to two of my blogs, so I get to choose twice as many blogs to share it with.

7 things about me:

• My favorite chapter in the Bible is 1 Corinthians 13. I memorized it when I was in high school, and have tried to live by it ever since.
• I miss Colorado winters and the snow!  I now live in California, and though it is lovely it will never be "home" to me.  I miss the plains to the east with prairie grass or corn fields as far as the eye can see.  The majestic Rocky Mountains in the west with the most beautiful sunsets you can ever imagine.  The country folks with a simpler, friendlier way about them.  Men in Wrangler jeans! (Do I need to say any more about them?)
• I am a S.H.E. (Sidetracked Home Executive).
• I have three of the most amazing sisters.  My sisters and I are so very different, but we are the same in our love and devotion to one another.  Without their support I would not be able to care for our mother, and homeschool my son.
• I was a licensed cosmetologist for 10 years.  Like everything I do, I was passionate about cosmetology.  It was not uncommon for me to work 60 hours a week.  Unfortunately, to my detriment, burnout was inevitable.
• I have a confession, I stole my son's workboxes.  We have tweaked, and tried to adjust the milk crate and file folders long enough.  We are now using workfolders such as Jolanthe is.  Here is a link if you are interested, or don't know what I'm talking about.  Now the milk crate is my answer to all the piles and stacks of papers I seem to accumulate.
• My favorite movie is August Rush.  The wonderful story line, actors, but most of all the music.  I cry every time I see this movie.
But enough about me.  Now to the fun part....

3. from glitter to gumdrops - Christy offers tips and tricks from crafts, to cooking, to sweets and treats.  One fun and yummy blog.
4. Courageous Mother - Kelsey is a mom who, like me, "enjoys lounging around in her pajamas, eating dark chocolate, trying to will her house to clean itself, and practices being intimidating."  She and I both need to keep practicing that last one.
5. Creative Kristi - Kristi is a "reluctant Army wife blogging about crafts, decor, cheap home renovations, and green frugal living."
6. Green Submarine - Angela has created this blog for all things DIY.  She has compiled some of her favorites so we don't have to hunt all over for ideas.
7. Home School Hop - Pamela created a community of encouragement and support for christian homeschooling parents.  Reminding each us that we are not alone in our walk, or in competition with each other for our Father's love and guidance.
8. In my own Style - Diane is "inspiring you to put your style into everything you," and she is doing a great job of it.  She is turning flea market finds, junk, and cast-off items into treasures, and she shows you step-by-step how she does it.
9. loving life's little moments - Kelly is a homeschooling mom of 4 and a pastor's wife.  She is sharing life's little moments God gives her and her family.
10. Mainstream Mommy - Haley is a mom of 3 who is working full-time with a part-time business on the side.  She shares some of her mommy moments and more.
11. Mommy Time Out - Angela is giving us all a fun "time out" for reviews and giveaways.  I always like to visit to see what wonderful item she is checking out or offering up.
12. Mrs. Mandy's Musings - Mrs. Mandy is a Christian, military wife, and homeschooling mom of 3 "darlings."  She is a creative, crafty gal trying to be a Proverbs 31 woman.
13. Pursuing What Is Excellent - Kela is homeschooling mom of 6 who is pursuing excellence in every area of her life, and, like me, is a coffee snob.
14. Random Thoughts From a Stay at Home Wife/Mother - Emily was a teacher for 9 years and now has the opportunity to be a SAHW/M who is loving every moment.
15. Rose Petals from Heaven - Mo has a generous heart, and a giving spirit.  She offers so many beautiful buttons and graphics to enhance anyone's blog.  You can put a little piece of "Rose Petals from Heaven" on your blog too.
