Be my people

"But this is the new contract I will make with them: I will inscribe my laws upon their hearts, so that they shall want to honor me; then they shall truly be my people and I will be their God."  Jeremiah 31:33

I remember trying to write on a rock when I was a child.  It wasn't easy, the surface was too hard and the ink just wouldn't attach to it like porous paper would.

Is my heart too hard for God to write His laws on?  Am I too full of pride for the ink to seep in?

"Father I have sinned against heaven and in thy sight, I am not worthy to be called thy son (daughter)."  Luke 15:9

"I will forgive (your) iniquity, and I will remember (your) sin no more."  Jeremiah 31:34

Let your heart be softened by the events of life, the trials and tribulations.  Don't let circumstances and unforgiveness harden it so God cannot inscribe His Words on it.  They are precious and loving, a message from a Father so full of mercy for His children.
