Her children arise and call her blessed

The words "I love you" are often spoken to me by my son.  At first it was endearing to hear it so often, then it became habitual.  I wasn't sure he truly understood what he was saying...  But, he gets it!

He offers hugs with no prompting, and rubs my back for reasons of his own.  My son smiles that smile only for me.  How blessed to have such a love from my little boy.

There is trust and joy in that love.  He looks to me for so much, but gives more than he receives.  I have wondered often if my shelter and protection is enough.  Then I remember I am not alone in providing for my son.  Our Father God is the beginning and end of all.

When my son says, "We haven't read the Bible yet today."  I am blessed?  When he willingly walks next to his grandma, helps her pick up a dropped item, or gently tends to her in a way beyond someone his age should, I am blessed.

He is my little helper.  He is my sentimental, loving, little man who cries for the underdog.  He is the strong boy willing to stand up to anyone on my behalf.  I am blessed!

It's the little things everyday that catch me unaware.  They make me stop and remember how blessed I am to have such a gift from God.

Like moments of complete frustration at the clothes in the middle of the floor, the half done school work he is ignoring to draw yet another picture.  Later those pictures he will proudly show me after I have lost my temper, and reprimanded him too strongly for not completing his work.

He shakes it off, and loves me anyway.  I am blessed!

There are so many ways they "arise and call us blessed."  Do we recognize them, or are we too hard on our family and ourselves to count them.  They don't have to shout it from the rooftops, or pay a high price.  We just need to open our eyes and ears to receive it.

"Her children arise and call her blessed;  her husband also, and he praises her:  'Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.'"  Proverbs 31:28-29

As always, thank you! It was so nice to dwell on these positive things about my family.
