Bible Study - We have been enjoying stories from Hurlbut's Story of the Bible. We read about the twelve tribes of Israel, and how the Israelites crossed the Red Sea and conquered the Canaanites. He has also been reading the Keys for Kids devotional.
Math - There was much crying and complaining, but once he got started on Monday and Tuesday I really think my son enjoyed the new workbook
He has been working on reinforcing some skills he learned last year and the beginning of this year. His prior curriculum was not very thorough on mastery. He should be right on track when he completes this new workbook
Grammar - The same goes with this new workbook
Reading - Most of his other subjects were lots of reading: History was enjoyable. Learning about Alexander the Great. Science reading about electricity and lightning. He has been working on McGuffey's Third Reader for comprehension and poetry, and he made it through two more Happy Hollister
Another great site my son recently found LooLeDo.com. There are some really fun craft and science projects on this site. Most are done with household items we all have around. They also encourage kids to submit their own project photos or videos.
Art - If you haven't visited Drawspace.com then you have been missing out on a great homeschool resource. The lessons are fun, interesting, and a great way for any budding artist to fine tune their talents. My son loves these quick, but informative lessons. He finally understands shading!
Other than slacking off towards the end it was a great week. My son did ask to do every subject except Math and Grammar today, but I know the distraction of having my sister here is too much. We are going to pick things up on Monday, and have a long weekend. I could use the break too.
How was your week?
