There have been so many trips to the Goodwill they probably think I have storage sheds full of junk to bring them. I've been filling the dumpster to the point of having my apartment manager tell me to only dump on certain days so other residents would have room for their trash.
I thank the Lord everyday this is not my house....
I could never put up with this kind of chaos. But having everything "organized" in boxes neatly stacked almost to the ceiling in my living room has made me realize we cannot live this way either. Something has to give.
While surfing the internet I visited Sharla at The Chaos and the Clutter. I was moved by her honesty about a problem we have in common. Knowing what we have, chaos and clutter, and knowing what we want, clean and organized, doesn't make getting results any easier. But neither Sharla, nor I are going to let this deter us from what we know God also wants for us, happiness and fulfillment.
For as long as it takes I am going to purge, throw away, give away, clean, and organize until I reclaim my home.

OK, I'll have to admit when I first saw the photo in this post, I thought it was your place! Don't scare me like that :) I just saw the show about hoarding, "Buried Alive" where they had people with places like this photo and it was unreal. My parents have a close friend that is a hoarder and her house has tunnels. Anyway, I'm glad you are making progress cleaning out. I too like to keep stuff and organize it over and over again! Great to "see" you back in blog land Lynda! Happy decluttering! :)
ReplyDeleteI knew some would think this is a picture of my home. lol I don't keep trash, and my son takes it out regularly. =) To be honest I wish I had a camera to show my before and after photos.
ReplyDeleteI too thought that was you house:) Too funny that the apt manager told you to only dump your stuff on certain days:) Keep purging you will feel better for it:)
